A morning with a rainbow lining

The day was off to a sucky start, due to inability to sleep and the fact that wunce agane NJ Transit fale us (the 7:39 train showed up at 7:55), but then on the way in: sundogs. (Because they appear so close to the sun, it's hard to get good pictures of them, but the link shows one where you can at least see a bit of the rainbow colors on the cloud.)

So, yes, I'm easy to please. This is not always a Bad Thing.

Okay, okay. Imagine a big, shiny, rainbow circle drawn around the sun, maybe at a hand-width radius. Erase all of it except a couple of spots, usually where the circle intersects a cloud. Those spots are sundogs.
