[aikido] Back in the saddle

So even though the dojo was open last week after Monday, I only ended up going one day on accounta busy work foo. This means that I've effectively had two weeks off. My form is reflecting this fact, alas. Fortunately I was working with Sevinna (whose name I am probably dramatically misspleling), and she was quite helpful in correcting my numerous minor errors.

We were the all...er, munetori I think? Uke grabs nage's "shirt lapel", if you will...channel today. So, backstretch, then nikkyo, then sankyo, then yonkyo (argh), then throwing across the room, which is always good for a laugh. Sweaty workout but well within tolerances. Yay. I'd also like to take this moment to be very happy about my ability to roll. The quality-of-life improvement inherent in that skill add sometimes gets drowned out in my frustration with my current crop of errors, and I should periodically take a step back and appreciate past successes.

My upper arm still hurts occasionally in bizarre fashion when grabbed. Must ask Dr. Nick what's up with that.

Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'

"I should periodically take a step back and appreciate past successes."

True, true. In life, it's so easy to mess up, that people tend to overlook their positive accomplishments. A body could go plum cra-zay othaswise!

P.S. I apologize for the Limp Bizkit reference.

Glad you're enjoying aikido. I need to get back into some sort of exercise routine other than "Walk to T, sit in T, walk to office, sit in office, work, walk to T, sit in T, walk home, sit at home, sleep, repeat"

Unfortunately, my 'efforts' to get to the gym just don't work (to the point that I cancelled my gym membership because it was a waste of money to keep paying for something I wasn't using). Maybe there will be room in the apartment soon for 'exercise-like' activities to take place.

It helps that I go during my lunch hour. If I had to make time before or after work, i.e. carve it out of my leisure time, I don't know if I'd be able to maintain my 3-4 days a week.
