Round #3 of Dances With Insurance Companies

Geico is in NJ now, and we understand that they are not the suck, so I went to check them out. The good news is, yes, they're considerably cheaper (and their customer service seems goodly). The bad news is that they're not as cheaper as they might be, since those goddam shitheads in Willoughby Hts. actually did put my speeding ticket from last year into the system, even though the clerk said that if you pay it off and write a grovelling letter, usually they don't. This plus Steve's accident in Oregon en route to [livejournal.com profile] naudia's sister's handfasting plus the fact that my parking lot fender bender in the van still hasn't quite fallen off the statute of insurance limitations makes me a sad panda.

Though from what the customer service guy was saying, the speeding ticket is the worst of the three. Go figure.

Well, you know, speeding might lead to accidents. Accidents don't lead to anything.

I don't get the American systems's obsession with speeding.

Hypocrisy! It's the American Way!

I could put in a whole polemic about the madly-flailing attempts to Do Something, Usually The Wrong Thing about any given problem, and the mountains of cruft that accumulate on the Something so that it becomes the end itself rather than the means, but a) I'm too annoyed and b) it's not exactly news.
