serinde: (I see stupid people)

Fashion police != actual police, people.

Virginia's legislative body has passed a bill authorizing fines to anyone whose pants are so low-rise they show off their underwear. (It still has to pass the other legislative body to become law, so the stupidity is not yet official.)

Yes, low-rise jeans look stupid. Yes, the way they expose undies is deeply unattractive. You know what that is? That's called "being its own punishment". This is not what the majesty of the law is supposed to be concerned with.

Ah, the South. How I wish we'd let you go 140 years ago.

I think my icon says it all.

People are still wearing those somewhere?

Yes, because (much to my chagrin) in many stores that's all you can bloody well find. :-/

There is a shotgun lined up for every soul who had anything to do with this trend: creation, promulgation, you name it.

well...
if the bill passes at least it'll kill the trend of showing the skin since people will wear clothes to cover up the bare skin so it's not butt-blazin' obvious that they're wearing crack-displayers.

Wowzers. ANOTHER reason to avoid Virginia like the plague. Not that I particularly care for low rise, I think it's hideous. Worthy of a flogging perhaps, but not a ticket or arrest.
