and now for the moment of perfection

I got home and presented my Plone installation to Steve, like a cat bringing in the corpse of the World's Biggest Mouse.

Quoth he, "Oh...I played around with it a little more a month or so ago, and I really didn't like it after all. Didn't I tell you?"

A long time ago, in an Ohio far away, it was desired that a certain website be redone and made snazzy and modern and CMSy. A friend of mine said something to the effect of “maybe something like Plone?” somewhere where it was noticed; this may have been meant to suggest something as general as “maybe a CMS” — I'm a bit fuzzy on the details, as I wasn't actually there — but certainly not that Plone should be used without examination. And lo, eventually there was Plone, and it was a great hideousness. And this this friend felt guilty about that not-really-a-suggestion for quite a while, and perhaps even to this day.

So, uh, it's not just you?
