Steve forgot his Nexium. He's managing okay at the moment, in spite of being a goober and ordering hot food two days running, but I don't know if it's going to get worse. If anyone has notions on how this is best addressed, please let me know.
Really not sure how this works for visitors, but there must be some arrangement. Try getting an appointment with a doctor who can prescribe, maybe? I think there are some clinics in the CBD that'll take you on short notice. If it's not a drug of addiction then they'll probably help him out.
If you can't get an appointment, you might try asking a pharmacist what is available over-the-counter that might work. Prilosec is a similar drug which is OTC here, but I don't know about there.
Yes, this is a good way to go. I have found the pharmacists (or is that chemists?) in Australia are very helpful. The ones in the US are trained but they don't seem to be as willing to help with recommendations, at least in NYC anyway. It is entirely possible that the exact drug, in the right dosage is available OTC in Australia so it could be easy.
Go to any medical clinic. Look for one that says "bulk billing" as those usually take walk-ins. See doc. Pay probably around $30 cash for the privilege, certainly no more than $50. http://www.pbs.gov.au/html/consumer/search/results?manufacturer=AP says it will cost a further $31.30 to fill the prescription at any chemist.
Well, there are pepcid pills that last all day I'm told, but the best solution to this problem is to have him taking pink bismoth on a regular basis. Other suggestion: Call his insurance, and see if they can transfer the prescription. It's a long shot, but it might work.
