I meant to clean out my closet, but instead am embarked on more cooking experiments; to wit, Yet Another Curry Attempt. Probably as a result of talking to
sweh about the superiority of London curries the other night. Besides, I really wanted to get some use out of all the spices my pooky brought back from his last India trip. (I also have a duck roasting in the oven, but that's not as who should say experimental.)
My favorite pen (it's dark green/brown with sparklies), which I use for scribbling Champions plot notes, ran out on the way home today. Waah. I don't remember where I got it, so replacing it could be tricky. Don't ask me why, but it's easier to think when I'm writing with that pen. Possibly this is pathetically psychosomatic.
As I was walking up the driveway, a biplane flew right overhead, low enough I could see "US Army" painted on the under-wings (though it looked like the Air Force symbol), triggering a moment of complete cognitive dissonance: "we were going to go to the aerodrome next weekend, right? And it's not here." ...Just now, I could swear I hear it or another one, but I can't see any from the computer room window due to excessive foliage.
Public service announcement:
naudia and the pooky are stuck in Florida onaccounta hurricane, but are well and safe and not feeling particularly threatened.

Date: 2004-09-26 06:35 pm (UTC)Your story about the plane reminded me of an episode from my childhood (or is this just my collective memory acting up again?). A commercial - for Domino's Pizza, I believe - came on, touting their new Buffalo wings. I was only half listening, but then, toward the end of the commercial, my mind snapped to attention. I thought to myself, "Wait. Buffalo don't have wings... BUFFALO DON'T HAVE WINGS!"
