I do love the beach on grey days, but I would have really liked more than a couple hours of basking in the sun. Well, hopefully we'll be able to make it back in October.

Raining the whole way home, raining all night. Not raining this morning, which is good. I bet the basement is bepuddled, though.

Ah, Monday. I managed to space that I wasn't coming home tonight, so I don't have any clothes for tomorrow; I forgot my cellphone; I forgot to grab either my book or a minidisc; and we're having a fun fun DSL morning. I would like to blame the lack of sleep (I don't sleep at all well in cold and clammy conditions), but I think it's just utter flakiness.

Realization: my vague aura of bitchiness over the past several months has been due to a lack of pookysex. Feel much better today (in spite of all the above).

DSL is completely verkocteh. Focal claims there isn't any over-arcing problem. Bah.

Ultra!

I'd gotten sort of used (if annoyed on a philosophical level) to the fact that all detergents, at least the big commercial brands, are now all Ultra Foo! They're the same formula, mind, they just have "Ultra" on the label because one brand started it and all the others had to jump on the bandwagon or else people would think their product wasn't as strong.

But last time I was at the store, I just wanted bleach--and the only bleaches I could find were Ultra! too. I assumed it was the same thing, but Skyler just informed me that the Ultra bleaches are more concentrated. Dammit, we both _want_ something a little more dilute so it doesn't EAT HOLES IN STUFF

To add insult to injury, he passed on some bits from Clorox Ultra! commercials: the one that said "With bargain [i.e. non-Ultra!] bleaches, you're paying for mostly water." Well, duh...I don't want 100% bleach, for fuck's sake. Or the one which said "With bargain bleaches, you're not getting something guaranteed to kill germs!" Words fail me. I can only file this with the level of idiocy that had Domino's put "A Fat-Free Food!" on a box of sugar.

Of course, what _really_ scares me is the idea that people are dumb enough to fall for/need this kind of thing.
