Pooky was out late last night "networking" (i.e. drinking with a cow orker) so Beth and I had a cozy domestic evening: I baked, she sewed, and we talked for hours during it. I core dumped a bunch of stuff that had been percolating, and she core dumped a bit, and we realized we weren't crazy because there was a lot of crossover.

Also last night, we looked through museum store catalogs (and bulb catalogs, but that wasn't with an eye towards holiday presents). It's even more fun now than looking through the Penny's and Sears catalogs to make your xmas list was as a kid. :)
The cake didn't turn out bad but it's not how I envisioned it, either; the panels on top aren't sharply defined enough. Beth mentioned that there is a well-known cake decorating course that you can take all over the country--maybe I should look into it.
I'd really like to be able to take about two months off and just get all kinds of stuff done around the house--not just cleaning, but reorganizing, building, pitching, sorting. Yes, I'm sure there would be days of BG2 mixed in, but I think at the end of it my world would be much more maintainable at current levels of activity.
