I thought that Mage's borg-cat episode from this summer had gotten me used to cats with icky injuries. Apparently not. Mr. Dusty has arrived back from the hospital looking truly awful: his eye socket (!!! argh wig yeck shudder) is stitched shut, there's yick on his face, he has shaved bits, and of course has one of those cone things around his head, robbing him of what little dignity remained. Poor guy.
He seems moderately okay, though. Was _very_ loving when I got in, at least until I had to give him his antibiotic (which he's now sleeping off). There's vast potential for the darkest of black comedy in the way he's trying to rub his cheekbones against stuff but only succeeds in whapping his cone into things.
As for Scuzzball, who's visiting the 9th floor, he's operating up to his usual standards: he set off their motion detector last night, generating a cop visit, and ate someone's plant then barfed it up on the floor. So he's pretty happy.
Nice nice sleep last night, just not enough. Sigh. I was having an interesting dream, seemed to be D&D related, only at the sort of 3/4 from above view so I could watch the party moving across the map. Thanks to the damn alarm clock I only remember fragments, but we'd just gotten someone's head that we needed to get and were standing at these huge, ancient, carved pillars forming a gate, and someone was holding up the head demanding entry...*BRRRRRT! "...and the Iraqi government has answered the U.N. resolution, agreeing to allow the weapons inspectors..."
