Hubris-prevention
Mar. 5th, 2003 01:41 pmToday, I swung back toward dunce. All of the moves we were learning were hard for me, and I kept screwing up. Sigh.
The sensei also took me aside for remedial rolling. Monday I heard _why_ I was doing wrong, today I learned _what_; to wit, not going low enough and (much more importantly) twisting to the side instead of staying straight. Now I must practice...lots. Problem is, I am fighting several decades of "keep face away from ground! protect glasses!!" So I daresay this will take awhile.
I suspect I'm going to be very achey in the back and shoulders later. Also, I seem to have come down with a cough--probably Ken's or Scott's rather than Steve's respiratory infection, not that this is a huge comfort.
