I are socially conscious.
Mar. 22nd, 2003 03:47 pmJust got back to the darling pet's apartment after joining the NYC protest march. It was _huuuuge_ (and, unlike the Pride Parade, didn't have to keep stopping every twenty feet; what a lovely difference that makes, let me tell you). It was also remarkably well-mannered; I saw no disorder, anyways. There were a few boo-ers and the like, but they were far outnumbered by the supporters on the sidelines, and they pretty much confined themselves to booing and the occasional shouted comment.
Now, with the comfortable feeling of having done a good day's work, we are going to walk across the park (did I mention how lovely the weather is today?) and get fish and chips from the Chip Shop.
...But then I popped out to where
sweh has CNN's protest coverage on, and they're talking to pro-war protesters in Chicago, where some dimwitted young female just said "I don't support war, but I support our President, who I believe God put into office..." Bleh. It is to vomit, copiously.
Oh well. I think we've still proven that a sizeable portion of the electorate is not deceived.
