Nothing or double, Jack.
Jan. 5th, 2004 10:14 amYesterday I had all the energy I didn't have on Saturday, and went on rampage: put up a shelf in the bedroom, reorganized my vanity & jewelry box, knocked the sewing room into some kind of order, cleaned kitchen, made curry, cleaned kitchen again, unpacked all of Steve's stuff once he got home, and interwoven with all of the above, did metric assloads of laundry.
Today I am once again lifeless, though this is due to lack of sleep--Steve was thrashing about like a landed fish last night, which becomes everyone's problem when you're on a waterbed. (Reason: "the new down comforter crinkles too much; it makes too much noise." *gronk!*)
Also today: back on the diet. I only slipped back about five pounds, which is not bad, especially considering I went a wee bit hog-wild this past week. I'm vaguely annoyed by the fact that I don't really enjoy Coke anymore; it's too sweet, diet sodas have icky aftertaste, what does that leave? Also, my lifetime peanut butter of choice (Peter Pan crunchy) now tastes a bit too sugary. Natural peanut butter is well and good, but it's not really quite the same food. Bah.
Was not wholly pleased with the curry experiment. It wasn't bad, but it was not very flavorful. I used a premade curry powder, one that I have used as flavoring in other things (like shepherd's pie) with success, but it doesn't seem to work on its own. On the other hand, the lassi worked out pretty well--a little on the sweet side, but that's easily adjusted.
