Stand in awe of...CRANKY POWER!

I haven't had any joy juice today (or, well, for quite some time), yet I'm actually productive. This is new and exciting. I seem to be motivated primarily by irritation and misanthropy, but any stick to beat a dead horse, as they say.

Last night I intended to be useful, but was just too damn tired. Ended up playing with Steve's new DVD recorder. He buys electronic gadgetry whenever I'm away; I don't know if this is a security-blankie thing or a "buy it while the parsimonious wife is gone" thing. I confess it's rather nifty. However, this means, of course, that we now have to go get every single video we had recorded all over again. This is not so bad, in truth. It kind of puts the interest back in the trolling-through-videos work.

Today's accomplishments

* Burned through a whole bunch of moribund modem & dialup trouble tickets

* Engaged in retail therapy, but was strong enough to only buy one of the dresses I wanted

* Learned that Steve does not qualify for Canadian citizenship (boo!), even though his mother was Canadian, because his parents didn't register him before he turned two

* Learned...I think...that Steve does qualify for British citizenship--their web pages on the topic are pretty darn opaque, so I'm not quite sure

On the down side, the salad place was out of tofu, and they gave me the wrong dressing. Feh.
