Minor pockets of serendipity
Oct. 6th, 2004 09:30 amI was working up a deep annoyance last night--I'd agreed to meet Brian at Hoboken for the 7:15 train; which he ambled up just as said train was leaving. The next one wasn't for an hour, so we waited a mere 40 minutes for a Main Line train (stops much further, but still walking distance, from his house). This turned out to be Not So Bad, as we discovered a very pleasing Italian restaurant en route. Perfect grilled portobellos, indeed. Yum.
Then, on the train this morning, I got on and immediately saw my pooky and, in true storybook fashion, awakened him from slumber with a kiss. This is, perhaps, not meeting qualifications for real serendipity, as that's the train he usually takes. But it was from his perspective: I was (as a result of a bizarre chain of circumstances I won't get into) carrying a bottle of Nexium, and he'd forgotten to take his for several days, which could have led to a very sorrowful pooky during the course of the day.
Less serendipitous:
8782 is out sick with the current office plague. Eli wasn't feeling too good yesterday, either. I WILL NOT BE SICK FOR MY TRIP. I have spoken.
Edit: Eli's out sick too. Whee!
