The word of the day is...
Oct. 29th, 2004 10:01 amSo, I'm becoming one with my daily frustrations: not having anything to wear, the lack of options for a suitably balanced, low-fat, protein-high breakfast when we're out of yogurt, my inability to find The Perfect Tote Bag. They don't make me happy, but I'm getting used to them. Therefore, the universe has to send me something bigger and better.
Last night, I stopped by the discount shoe store near our house; they're going out of business, ergo big ole sale. I found the pair of shoes I have always been looking for: low PVC lace-up boots with a thick (but not clunky) heel. For $20!
...In 8 Medium. The only pair in the store.
I am either 8 Wide, or 8 1/2 medium.
Though I can get them on my feet without trouble, I know that after a half-hour of wear I'd be in agony, so I exercised a modicum of control and didn't purchase. Being a canny consumer, instead I noted the maker ("Poppies") and determined to look them up on TEH INTARWEB. This I have now done.
THEY DON'T EXIST ANY MORE ARGH KILL KILL KILL no one's heard of them and the few uber-pages with links to all shoe companies have links but the domain is de-registered.
