Holiday aftermath
Dec. 28th, 2004 09:32 am(I'm skipping the spree and going straight to the hangover, as it were. Maybe when I'm warm I'll post the Seasonal Joy bits.)
Irritating start to the week, as my winter coat's zipper broke on the way out the door yesterday morning; I had to switch to my wool dress coat, which is warm but not 10-deg-F. warm. (I managed to fix it last night, at least.)
Yesterday was Moving Day, by which I mean that me and my two minions--well,
8782 anyways; Eli had taken the day off and will be relocating today--moved out of the mega-cubicle that had been our home for lo these many years, and into the former "corp" section. (I can see out the window now. Fear my privileges.) This had the added benefit of keeping us in motion and warm, since the office heating was out AGAIN. It took most of the day and then some, as a whole bunch of other shit was being moved out of the way/cleaned up/thrown out/etc. Much dust, much sneezing, much ranting at the voicemail system, but it's all towards a worthy goal. As special extra holiday gift, the heat came on about 3pm.
But it's off again this morning.
The only consolation is that the landlord is in the building, too, so his ass is also cold.
