The return of the wacky dreamage.
Jan. 12th, 2005 10:10 amSo, no shit, there I was, a member of the JLA (as myself, but I am not sure with what powers), and in the course of my work I ended up in contact with Dr. Light--but not either of the two Dr. Lights in the DC Universe[1]; this was someone in his late teens. I'm not clear on what his specific powers were, either, but in some way they made him A Freakish Outsider[tm] with the usual comic-bookish baggage that entails. I was talking to him a lot, basically trying to keep him from falling to the side of evil or at least the side of angsty bitter antagonism, but it didn't work. He went apeshit and did something that suppressed my powers, and then started going to town on my teammates while I stood by helplessly.
And then I saw a Green Lantern ring just laying on the ground in the middle of the fracas. (I don't know if it was Just There, in dream fashion, or if it got dropped by (a) GL going hors de combat--don't remember any of them being present offhand, but that don't signify.) So of course I picked it up...
I now know exactly what it feels like to ride the Emerald Energy wave. But I can't put it in words, so let's move on.
First thing I did was to put up a force-bubble around all of us. Dr. Light was pouring it on, and I felt the wall weakening, and then remembered GL powers are linked to your willpower, and by God I had more of that than some pissed-off sulky teenager. That did the job, and I was just about to go on the offensive when Brian woke me up 'cos I was sleeping through the alarm. :-/
Only other tidbit of note I remember was, being really really close to Superman--kissing distance, I mean (and NO WE DIDN'T KISS, or even have teh sexx0r tension, shut up you filthy minded humans!)--and his eyes were a warm, clear brown. They were very nice eyes and all, but I knew damn well they should have been blue, and though I was completely immersed in the dream-reality I was still wondering what the hell the artist was playing at.
[1] and a good thing, too. One is female and a hero, and the other is male and...ugh, blah blah Identity Crisis blah.
