I don't want to re-arrange my desk agaaaaaaaain. But right now, I'm side-on our windows, which are taller than me, wider than my wingspan, and face full south. Horrible horrible glare on my screen whenever the sun is out, i.e. now, because the window blinds are...better than not having any at all, but still not as who should say useful.

OTOH, I really like Radio Paradise. We've been streaming since I got biohazard set up, and there is much delight.

Can't. The phone system is hooked up to an actual stereo whatsit. I imagine it's too old and crusty to understand streaming media.

Don't think it'd be any better if you had a north-facing window. I've got one of those, and the next building acts like a colossal mirror and I still get glare. :-(

Hm. There are plenty of spare pairs on the RJ45's people's phones are plugged into; it Surely Couldn't Be That Hard to run biohazard's audio-out back to the patch panel and into the phone box.

I almost want to try to do this thing just for the hack value.

Ah, but when the Asterisk (http://www.asterisk.org/) Revolution arrives, patching in streaming audio entirely in software should be... well, possible, at least.

Window

You have ANY window and you're complaining? I am in the "workplace of the future" set-up where there is no such thing as a window office. Not even for the owners. People in cubbies are in a windowed area. In other words, you can either have a door or a window, but never both. I'm in an office and I never see the sun... (said dramatically)

An office... such luxury! I'm in a 5'6" (approx) high cubicle. I know there's a window about 50' away from me, and if I stand up then I can see it... but all my light is from overhead lighting. Whee.... effectively no windows or doors.

I hate this office! Much preferred my old one, where the cubibles were lower and so I could see the windows.
