dariodevil and I went to see the new Rocky movie last night. Mirabile dictu, it was actually pretty darn good; you could just sort of make this The Sequel to the first one (possibly the first two--I didn't see Rocky II but I understand it was not unworthy) and pretend the power ballad entries into the franchise didn't happen. We then proceeded to a tiny old-school dive bar underneath the Port Authority (shout-out to dagnycat522 for the recommendation) which has $3 pints, vinyl-cushioned bar stools, and cheap neon. Who could ask for more? After a couple of drinks' worth of wide-ranging conversation, I headed home with dreams of getting a good night's sleep (HA HA) and he was moved to attend the 11pm improv class at the comedy club up the block from our office. So, a righteous evening all around.
