Such a busy social life
Dec. 6th, 2002 02:58 pmLast night, went to a gallery opening of erotic photography & art where Beth's friend Michele had a work on display. It was a great photo, too. I also met the famous Karl--seemed like a very nice man but I don't understand why everyone's swooning in his shadow like the three bar bimbos over Gaston in "Beauty and the Beast". Pooky is smug because he predicted that would be my reaction. Also got to see Marrus & Jay again, which was nice. After, we went to dinner at a place called Jezebel (fnarr fnarr), which is sort of fancified down-home Southern cooking. It was pretty good, if pricy. I was introduced to a cocktail called "mohito" (sp?), which seems to involve rum, sugar, lime, and a metric assload of mint. Yum.
Tonight is Stephen's work xmas thingy. I'm not sure I'm entirely mentally prepared for watching his boss running around trying to get people to do head shots, but I am not so lost to my college days as to pass up free sushi and booze. *cough sheepishly*
Beth put me on the magic list so I can go to the FIT library tomorrow and look at fifty years of fashion magazines if I wish (this is to get design ideas for my cocktail dress). Feeling ambivalent; certainly it wants doing, but I might lame out, especially with a toothsome pet around for the gnawing.
