serindeFor reasons I couldn't explain or indeed formulate, I pulled Brokedown Palace off the shelf for my commuter reading yesterday, in spite of the fact that it's not a book I generally enjoy reading (a wholly different matter from whether it's good or not; it's excellent, in case you wondered). This proved to be an entirely correct choice.
