Fever's up to 100 again. I mostly feel better--less tired &c, though I have Magic Nose Goblins and my neck aches--but argh. Problem is, I HAVE to go into work; there are things I have to sort before I leave that I can't do from home.

So I guess it's swig the Dayquil and soldier on through.

Do NOT come to work. There is NOTHING that others can't handle. ASK FOR HELP. Do NOT give the cold to somebody else who will give it to ME.

Mom's rules

I just thought I'd offer the voice of prudence here. My mom's rules were that if you had a fever, you weren't allowed to go to school. No matter what kind of special day or party they were having that day. Same rule for throwing up: automatic excused.

Potato!! Hope you feel better.

Beth

Have you tried one of those neti pots or sinus rinses? I know they're gross, but they really do work, and this is an emergency. Hint: Do not lay down for 1/2 hour or so afterwards.

Sounds like my mom. It extended a bit further, too. One feverfree day was needed before we got kicked off to school again.

Around here, that's the guideline given by the schools and daycares - 24 fever-free hours without fever-reducing medications before returning. There's an analogous rule for gastrointestinal disorders. They seem reasonable to me, even (mostly) when I'm stuck home for Yet Another Day with a kid who's no longer all that sick and is bouncing off of the walls.
