Bud's brakes have suddenly started to make awful grinding noises when I apply them. Having been through the teenage adventure of ignoring loud brake complaints unto the point where the disc cracks and you have to drive home in your land yacht with no brakes at all, I see no need to get extra credit in that particular subject, and will call the brilliant competent glorious mechanics of Jersey City tomorrow.

I can borrow back Womble or probably use nedlnthred's car at need, so I'm not screwed even if they can't take delivery of the patient for some days. But what a damned nuisance.

Welcome to my world. I'm maybe getting my car back today, which is good, since the car I'm driving around has a failed inspection sticker (stupid turn signal light fell off and J forgot to glue it back on, and I forgot about it until I was at the inspection place). I feel like I have a shot at weaseling out of a ticket, though, between my "But the man at the garage said I had 15 days to fix it" act and my handy-dandy PBA card.

I'm glad you are getting it fixed. Definitely the right thing to do.

oooh. They usually don't start making noise until they're pretty far gone. This may not be cheap. Sorry.
