Think of it as practice for getting an advanced degree. Getting your MA and PhD will no doubt include a lot of public presentation. Or, think of it is another 'sign that alcohol has become a problem in your life': Do you volunteer to do things while intoxicated that you normally would not do when sober? Anyway, anything you present would have to be better than the last SCA class I attended, where in the presenter advised a lot of newbies that didn't know any better that "you can make any kind of medieval garb using a princess seamed dress pattern from the Big Three and a peasant blouse pattern for a chemise."
