The only reason the project was "hairy" is because you hadn't really thought about what it involved. You had some vague idea of the end result, but you hadn't even thought about that in any concrete way; what any web page should look like, what you wanted to actually do.
There was probably less than 12 hours and 500 lines of programming involved in doing this (it's not my neatest program, but it works).
You now have the boring job... massaging the original data so it's "normalised" and pretty :-)
