Oops, I did it again
Aug. 26th, 2003 01:59 pmThat is, during class, pushed myself way way past the point I should've.
It's moderately warm today and excessively humid, so that's already a toughie; and I was working with Luke, which meant I really _really_ wanted to keep up. Not just because I didn't want to lose face--though I don't actually know whether I would or not--but because working with him, especially freestyle, is really energizing and fun. But that's also more dangerous for me, because I drive myself harder, because it's more fun to do these things at full speed, and I get excited and throw my all into it...
I take credit for actually starting to say "I have to stop and sit down" when in fact we all stopped and sit down to change maneuvers. But I was definitely getting headachy and stupid by the end, and I'm going to be feeling this one most of the day. Got some chicken soup for lunch, which is about the only thing which the thought of didn't want to make me immediately hurl, and it's doing well. Mmmm, salt.
Luke did say that my stamina was definitely improved (! I can't imagine how bad I must've come off last time we worked together) so that's something. If only my form was better. But that's another thing I like about working with him--if I don't do a move right, then the move won't happen until I get it right. It can be frustrating but it's damn good for getting the point across.
