Another lovely evening with sweh, wherein we explored the many functions of a studded leather belt. Also I had saved up my carbs and drank a lot of wonderful white wine, to wit a Cuvee Renaissance Cour-Cheverny 2000 Vendanges Manuelles. (I am a French wine luser, so I am not clear on what part of that label is what, except that Cour-Cheverny is the appellation.) The guy at the wine store said it wasn't a chenin blanc, but some grape varietal starting with R that I don't remember. Tasted not dissimilar, though. Two thumbs up.

I too am a French-wine-luser, but as I understand it 'cuvee' is also meaningful. The 'cuvee' variants of the champagne I bought last time I was out at Domaine Chandon was the pink one.

The way the label was, it actually looked like "Cuvee Renaissance" might be the winery name--it was at the very top in the border, outside the main field where they have all the appellation stuff &c. But who the heck knows? (Answer: Mr. Internet, of course, and I will search if I get time today.)
