22 miles of hard road

I are home. Yay.
Contrary to the above title, the roads were reasonably clear and the weather was good, and I made excellent time. The driving portion of my day was fine. I have, however, been repeatedly thwarted since getting in the door. Nothing major in and of itself, but the sheer cumulative effect is oppressive beyond belief. I think I've finally got everything more or less in shape, except that since Steve smashed the crappy toaster before we left, I have nothing to toast my malt bread in--which is damn annoying when you've been looking forward to your annual fix of malt bread for weeks.
The mass of random shit I came home with this time: malt bread, butter from the Alliston Creamery, an Atari 800XL and a 1200XL with assorted disk drives, cables, and floppy disks (I couldn't find the cartridges), a raincoat, a bathrobe, assorted family-heirloom baking pans, two pairs of jeans, a new shirt with a Japanese-ish print, a bed skirt for the sunroom bed, a down comforter, and a DVD player that claims to play all CD/DVD flavors. Also one of Grandma's house-dresses, which I'm going to use as a pattern to make new ones for her, since it's not real easy for her to go shopping these days.
Steve's present was not in our accumulated mail. Either they're running late (certainly possible) or it's been swiped. I'll be fucking pissed if that's the case.
