Low-key New Year's for low-key expectations

Good thing we didn't go to any parties last night; sweh had a fever of 100.4 today (plus exhaustion and coughing). So instead of potentially infecting dozens, it's just me, arkham1010, and Eli. Of course, if both Eli and I come down with this, there will be no joy in Panix Supportville...heck, it'll be bad enough if only one of us gets it.

All of us being vaguely curmudgeonly, we spent the night getting smashed and watching bad movies. We began with "XXX", which was just a big dumb action movie and not unenjoyable (beer), then went to "The Core", which was really amazingly awful (wine). We intended to bring it on home with "Battlefield Earth" (hard liquor), but the second movie ended at twenty to midnight, and we were mostly falling over then as it was. Still, it was exactly what we were looking for to ring in another stinkin' year.

Today has been Illuminati, "I Love the 80s" on VH1, and a just-completed pork roast dinner (as is the custom of my people).
