Georgia's House of Representatives, modern thinkers all, have passed a bill banning female genital piercings. (Snarfed from ronebofh.) It seems they consider it non-consensual mutilation. I guess they heard about the Tennessee county that wants to outlaw homosexuality and just knew they could come up with something even more backwoodsily retarded.

Clearly I need to get my labia pierced in Solidarity!. In fact this could be the beginning of a beautiful grass-roots movement. A million angry, pierced women Marchin' through Georgia, barbells winking in the soft Southern sunlight, yes.

Rhea county (the Tennessee county) was just one-upping itself. They figured they had to do something to top the Scopes' Monkey Trial they had 79 years ago.

They did (sorta) reverse themselves after they received a significant amount of outcry. I mean, they still wanna do it, but they'll probably try something more subtle next time.
