Apr. 18th, 2004 04:12 pmThe usual springtime plant acquisition and turning over of dirt, but also I have finally taken steps towards my goal of putting in a pond and fountain in the little shade bed in the backyard. The local garden store referred me to this place in Allendale, and though alas it seems naturalistic ponds are not made in the eeentsy size I need (and I didn't want a sitting-above-ground thingy), the nice lady is ordering me a half-depth liner which you'd ordinarily put in one of those pseudo-whiskey barrel planters. So it'll be perfectly circular; well, that's life. It should be in by mid-week, and I reckon I'll install it next weekend. I've got forget-me-nots to put around the edge (they like the damp) and a few taller things to break up the edges. I think this will work nicely.
Now, to plant some pansies (and chivvy Steve away from Call of Duty so he can sand down and repaint the base of the deck table).
