Message in a bottle

serindeA short post, as I'm plodding along here in the stone age of 28.8k (actually, 24k; a pox on these winmodems), so just the bare bones.
Steve is coping as well as may be expected. I anticipate some rocky bits in the immediate future: 1) tomorrow, in lieu of a service or visiting hours or the like which his mom wanted none of, The Family Is Receiving Friends, so it will be much with the formalized social foo, and that will be hard on him; and 2) probably Monday, when his uncle gets here (he's driving up from Florida, hence the time frame is fluid)--we know this has hit him very hard indeed, and the emotional bursts tend to be contagious, so.
I'd hoped to be Useful and get the lawyers moving on stuff before the weekend, but the lawyer who was handling Betty's affairs wasn't in on Friday so nothing happens til tomorrow at the soonest. Must be nice. I have at least sorted out the important papers that were here (learning interesting things along the way, like his birth mother's name). Also we found Steve's dad's RAF medals from WWII. Neat.
I reckon I'll be taking the train home midweek, unless JetBlue or Song or whichever one it is that does BUF can give me a nice last-minute fare. He'll probably be here 'til end of the week.
