Behold, I am returned. (Steve will be back later this week sometime.)
Sundry disjointed reflections and remarks:
* Having to wait 35 minutes for the A at mid-morning seems...excessive.
* Fuck this metabolism, fuck it hard. One week of not being strict about food intake (and I don't mean pigging out, thank you) and I can already tell my belt is tighter.
* Our D&D group seems to be breaking up. I don't think I need to elaborate on how I feel about that.
* I'm once again wishing my upbringing had included more data on the proper forms of etiquette. (On the other hand, I think I have now experienced most of the events that still require proper forms of etiquette, so I should have a reasonably complete knowledge base once this business is over. whee.)
* Two thumbs up to JetBlue, which I flew back on this morning. Friendly (but not in that plastic annoying way), competent, efficient, and comfy, though they're downscored a little bit for sucky Javascript on the web site that simply does not work when you try to select your seat.

Date: 2004-05-05 10:01 am (UTC)Yup. That's about the only bad thing I have to say about JetBl00 as well. Even then, when I called them up, the problem was resolved within 2 minutes of me picking up the phone, most of that being the phone ringing and being on hold.

You've been under some stress.. and that can f*ck the metabolism up too. Let me tell you sometime about stress and blood sugar :-/
Hope you're well.. again, I'm sorry for your loss...

Date: 2004-05-05 11:19 am (UTC)PBEM, anyone?
The more I play in a regular group with a standard non-flexible time to meet, the more I want to keep playing D&D but have some flexibility.
Granted, I've only ever played in PBEM campaign and it was BirthRight and lasted all of something like 3 weeks because only 2 out of the 10 people who where supposedly in the campaign even bothered to respond to the GM...
Maybe some web-based thing (strangly, web-based may be more accessible than email-based because there are plenty of places where I have web access but no home-email access for example).

No DND? Never!
Date: 2004-05-06 05:44 am (UTC)I don't know if it has come to that yet. We still have enough to play a decent game (one down is OK, unless Nick bails also and that makes two). Truth be told, it would be fun to start over with new characters and/or a new campaign ... Randal is getting kind of boring ...
Or we could just have weekly LAN parties, that would work for me ... Or I could play CoC or DG with you guys if you wanted ('cept weekends are not real good for me)
Or we could all say goodbye and never speak to each other again, but that would make me, for one, sad :-(
BTW, welcome back.

Date: 2004-05-06 12:28 pm (UTC)Am I the only one of us who actually is really into her character? :) Maybe it's because it took me so long to get there in the first place...I don't know.
I could be reasonably happy, most likely, starting over (with this system or another). I certainly need something to get me through the week. But in spite of the various flaws of our current campaign, I was really enjoying it, and so will be whiney for awhile if it does sink. Heck, even if we muddle along minus one, it won't be the same. Waah.
