Three bookstores and Forbidden Planet (which used to be a useful stop for gaming stuff), and none of them has the new D&D supplement. Yes, yes, I could order it on Amazon or something, but I wanted to actually look before purchasing as I am not sure that it isn't teh suxx0r.

I am also meta-annoyed that repeating to myself "you are not truly cranky. this is a biochemical reaction" does not seem to work.

I think that Forbidden Planet should just be burnt down. It's not worthy of the name! It's a travesty of a store compared to the London one.
