See? We CAN hit people. Or try to.

Today's techniques were all from katamenuchi, which I'd never done before; so there was Fun from doing something completely different, and then extra value-added Fun because of what katamenuchi is: to wit, uke grabs nage's shoulder; nage then strikes at uke's head (look! an actual strike! and not by the guy who's about to get thumped!), and uke raises his other hand to block. Then nage owns uke in whatever way is currently in vogue.
So, we did an ikkyo, a nikkyo, and some kind of kokyu-flavored throw which I don't quite get the knack of--definitely one of those where if you aren't really damn good, then you're never going to throw the other guy without he cooperates--and then freestyle, which I did surprisingly well at considering my unfamiliarity with the attack. Of course, at one point I was attempting shihonage and ended up with sankyo, but what the hell. As long as it works.
Partnered with Elliot today, who I think I've worked with once before. Better than me; very very taciturn, but will offer good advice if you need it. Gavin (one of the uchideshi) came in late and ended up joining us, too; and he is all the helpful--it was with his advice that I was getting anywhere with the kokyu at all.
I have got to be more careful about drinking enough water. I got away with it today, because it's below 80 and not really humid, but.
