Friday: a lovely dinner chez [livejournal.com profile] zombywoof (and healthy, too; I salute the skill of the chef). This is two pinot noirs in a row that do not taste like Pinot Sweatsock to me. Huzzah.

Saturday: Call of Cthulhu most of the day, though actually we didn't do a lot of actual playing; it was a good deal of between-adventure administrivia. (This was not as unfortunate as it might have been since we were missing several people anyways.) Afterwards, I drove [livejournal.com profile] 8782 and his stuff to his new digs, which are conveniently close to the Parkway...oh fuck, I am suddenly reminded I forgot to refill the EZ Pass.

Sunday: Not a lot, mostly bumming around the house, with a Family Conclave in the afternoon. I spent much of the day in varying states of mope, as previous entries may indicate. We went out to dinner, and then the others watched a movie; I was not over-fit for human company, so I stayed upstairs and reorganized my comics (which means about 10% sorting and 90% reading things I hadn't seen in awhile because they were in the wrong place), interspersed with dilatory cleaning. Long bath, short tete-a-tetes, cried on [livejournal.com profile] sweh's chest for a bit then went to sleep.

Today: Didn't sleep well (there's a shock), was therefore both cranky and moody this morning. Two for the price of one! [livejournal.com profile] sweh perked me up a bit by having us take the boat into the city--I seem to be constitutionally incapable of being unhappy while actually on a boat in the open air, even if it's just NY bloody Waterway ferries--but the annoyances started piling on as soon as I got into the office. Ah, Mondays.

Do you have any idea about the cause of your sleepless nights? How's the caffeine intake?

Caffeine is pretty well monitored; I customarily have a single-person-teapot's worth of black tea in the morning, and one of green tea at about 4pm; nothing after that.

I'm somewhat convinced that the leading cause is temperature regulation (for the nights when I sleep but it doesn't seem to give me much rest). Usually I wake up the next morning cold. It'd be nice if I'd wake up cold during so I could go get a blanket, but that doesn't seem to happen.

If I can't fall asleep at all, usually it's because I haven't burned off enough energy for a few days, though that's happened only rarely since I started aikido.

And, emotional upset can manifest either way.

I think this weekend I scored a trifecta.
