serindeI shake my walking stick at mouthy youngsters Bowling For Soup, whose song "1985" is all about me. I am not a cliche! I am a free woman! And besides, it's not my fault because I was too young to really enjoy the 80s, I just got to watch my big sister having fun.
What's not just a river in Egypt, you say?
ObCurrentMusic: I keep forgetting this song until I hear it again and remember how much I love it, probably due to shameful guilty feelings about liking a song that is solidly, unarguably pop. Steve points out that pop qua pop is not evil; shitty, boring pop is evil. Whereas Lindsey Buckingham is brilliant, so it's okay.
...And then I just charged downstairs like blood and thunder because they were playing the video for "Love's Great Adventure". I guess that almost has to be pop, too. But it's different somehow. You'd never hear that on Lite Rock 10X.X, Music For Your Morning Brain Rot.
