Much cleaning, store trip, moved remainder of [livejournal.com profile] 8782's stuff to his new place, etc.; but I also went mano e mano with the mall. (Well, sort of. [livejournal.com profile] sweh came along for moral support and heavy toting.) I have FINALLY got a pair of black jeans, which are not quite the perfect fit but are close enough, a few bras, and then went a leetle crazy accessorizing for my new dress. I did find shoes that match it almost perfectly, which is a miracle worthy of the Vatican's attention, though I shame to state the price. Especially since they don't match anything else I own. Also picked up card & present for Sunday's festivities. Sat. evening, [livejournal.com profile] arkham1010 and Eli came over for drunken croquet followed by drunken horrible movies.

Sunday, I rousted early and schlepped out to Bumfuckia Morristown for Kasia's youngest's baptism. I was a bit early and somewhat confused as to my next move, as Mass was still going on, but found a small group of other early confused non-Catholics standing around in embarrassed fashion in front of the church, so that was okay. The three babies actually gettin' holy wit it were quite tranquil, at least until the actual splashing-water-on-head bit, which alas could not be said for the rest of the under-5 contingent. (Except Angelina, Kasia's older girl, who retains her princess-like dignity. If I could get a written guarantee that any kids I have would be like her, I'd sign up right the hell now.)

Point of self-aggrandizement: Everyone I ran into there who I'd met before was highly complimentary with respect to how good I looked, in that spontaneous/shocked way that tells you it's genuine. *smug smug smug* Though of course the fabric mavens were probably more about how well the shoes matched my dress, but what the hell. My feet were killing me by the end of the (not very long) service, because those are some damn high heels, but as Beth's great-aunt says, "pretty hurts."

Point of...something: As the priest (deacon. Is that different?) was blessing the water in the font, my instant twinned thoughts: 1) "Hey, it's now worth 25gp the vial, quick, bottle & sell it!" and 2) "I don't see any powdered silver material components". I am a horrible, horrible nerd, and I am going to Hell.

The rest of this week has not been notable for anything except tsuris, culminating in the Red Menace six days early, fuck you very much, O traitorous reproductive system. Bah. At least I made it to aikido yesterday, and a good class it was--all stuff I was familiar with, so I did not look st00pid after long absence. Dinner with my pooky on Monday, pub with Beth and Michael and [livejournal.com profile] sweh and [livejournal.com profile] arkham1010 yesterday--the usual run of social engagements.

I'm running Champions tonight, but the plots I had intended to sprout next revolved around John, who has just dropped out due to time constraints (he's forming a new company...as his second job. It makes me tired to watch that much ambition). Well, I do all my best work last-minute.

Damn it. I did the clicky things, and poked at the URL, and then I forgot to tick the "don't auto-format" box, having which was the point of all that. Bleh.
