Three wailings and gnashings of teeth for beloved dresses shrunk out of: the little black velvet dress which has been my evening staple for years now, the bronze cocktail sheath I picked up on an Upper East Side thrift store for $40, and the first really hot dress I acquired upon embarking on a career of !t-shirts, the tiger-striped silk. Woe! ...And nothing's really come along to take any of their places in my heart.

Also, I am beginning to wonder if I ever will make good on the bet to fit into my prom dress again. Back in the day, the problem was getting it over my waist and hips. That I can do easily now; the current problem is that I can't zip it over my torso. I still have some excess to lose there, but I don't think it's enough to make the difference. I know that womens' hip bones frequently spread in their early 20s, and I know my tits grew a half-size then, but my rib cage?

On the up side, the tiny black dress with the cut-out back is looking pretty fuckin' good. I have this suspicion that the right shoes for it are high boots with clunky heels--guess I shoulda picked some up for Halloween after all. Must see how the thigh-highs work with it (I predict the shiny PVCness will distract too much from the dress, though).

I've got five black skirts, but three of them are minis, which is not the correct answer for everyday wear. And I don't have anything to wear with the micro-mini anyways. I really have to find a crop-top that doesn't feel like it's painted on, if such a thing exists.

A sexy yet functional garter belt, who can find? for its price is above rubies. Or so you'd think by the utter lack of them in stores. I need one like a junkie needs a fix. HELP.

Memo from the heresy corner: I think I'm going to get rid of some of my t-shirts. Some 80% of them I haven't touched in at least a year. This is going to be painful, as most of them have some emotional attachment.

It'd probably cost more than any of them were worth. (The velvet one, for instance, I got for => $10 <= at Jo-Mar--though if there's one garment I should be able to replace, that'd be it; plain velvet dresses are always available.)
