Praise Hastur!

Swelling is definitely down some; I'm once again more like Egg Shen than Chester the Angry Chipmunk. The rash isn't at all better and maybe even a touch worse, but let us see what a new whack of Zanfel plus the corticosteroids show by this time tomorrow.

If I'd woken up some random day with my face looking like this, I would have screamed and hollered and been miserable. But in comparison to yesterday, well, I want to get up and do a happy dance.
(My eye is still semi-shut and confused as to where it should leak tears, but we can't have everything.)

Now, if we can just get rid of the black-fly infestation of the house, I'll be a _really_ happy camper.

Today on Junkyard Wars...

Our teams are given the task of finding something to put in a mermaid's tail to make it somewhat more lifelike; something less rigid than cardboard, more rigid than Rigolene (which might work if I had more than about a yard of narrow stuff), using only what can be found in the house because I still look too scary to venture out.

It may come down to just plain padding it. What a damned nuisance. Oh well, I s'pose that would mean I could use it as a seat too.

On the bright side, as soon as this quandary is solved, all I have to do is stitch the side seams, put in zipper, and do the waist. After that it's all handwork/ornamentation. Go Me.

Most of the flies are gone thanks to the fearsome hunter-gatherer who obtained flypaper and a swatter (though I did a lot more swatting. I hate flies). The rash, however, is not at all abated...."What do you do, then?" "I do what Kieron the Conqueror did on the cliffs of Adrilankha." "That being?" "I await the morrow."

Who rocks? I rock.

It's a _tail_! It even looks like one without having to tell the viewer! (Tested on Steve, who's not often the best at recognizing my creations...) Can't go out and get the zipper tonight, so I will start laying out the EL wire and sequins.
