Dude, where's my signpost?
Nov. 14th, 2003 11:16 amI have the oddest feeling today--pair of feelings, really; one, that there's some kind of nexus right ahead, and two, that I'm open and receptive and ready for whatever change is going to happen as a result. It's not dissimilar to how I was feeling...*search LJ backlog*...last December, but outward-focussed, not inward.
Or maybe it's just the tea.
More mundanely: so we went to Century 21 (in New York, this is not a real-estate company, but a discount department store) last night. ( Details elided... ) The score for the evening was an aqua-and-black sparkly dress, which is wholly unsuitable as a dressy casual garment but I really REALLY liked it so there, and a black micro-mini-skirt. Never had me one o' them before. Steve gave it two thumbs up. It occurs to me, however, that wearing it now the weather's turned cold is going to be an exercise in iron endurance.
Tonight, we see Master and Commander. There was a review on NPR this morning, and it makes me fear that they're going to blur out a lot of the complexity in both Aubrey and Maturin (and in the friendship between them) in the service of Hollywood silhouetting, but what can you do? Unless they committed to a multi-movie series and started at the beginning, which they aren't, they probably couldn't do it justice anyways. So I won't trouble my fuzzy little head over it. Tomorrow, shopping for bed and silverware and...there was something else. Bugger. Sunday: Paintball.
