Aug. 2nd, 2004 03:04 pm...also sprach der fortunecookie. All wisdom is contained in the fortune cookie, and YOU KNOW IT.
I started out the day cursed, and it only got worse as time passed and progress was (not) made. This did not only suck for the usual reasons, but because I'm getting a tattoo tonight; and a) with the way things were going they should only have put it on upside down and backwards, and b) this is pretty important & meaningful to me and I did not wish to approach it all cranky and out-of-sorts.
Through diligent (SEE?) effort, I've managed to overcome a lot of the ducks nibbling me to death. Not all of them--I can't do anything about the fact that we waited too long to order pics from M&K's wedding, nor the fact that pooky's dithering about when to go to Buffalo has lost us the very cheap rate for a 10' truck rental that I'd found--but enough that I am no longer feeling cursed or even oppressed. All the things within my control have been controlled, and I'm feeling moderately in balance about the rest of it (mirabile dictu).
