serinde: (MY CURSE IZ PASTEDE ON YAY!)
I shan't say much about the con, as I was not in much of a state to enjoy it, alas. I think the accumulated stress of the previous week+ caught up with me--my soul felt like it had tiny shards of glass embedded all over it, and the slightest stimulus caused an agony of irritation. (This was kept under control by helpful application of b00ze; you can thank Johan.) And that, plus my body's usual stellar sense of timing (which is to say, Saturday was Everything Out day), meant my energy level was between "dead bug" and "flatworm". I got to touch base with a number of people who I hadn't seen in awhile, though, and that was pleasant.

And then there was this blizzard...

Okay, I'll confess that what actually hit Boston proper qualified as a blizzard. However, once we were out of the city (we left c. 12:30) and heading west, it really wasn't that bad; we didn't go below 45 mph, and for a good portion of the route home, it was close to normal speeds. So much for OMG OMG YOU WILL DIE IF YOU STICK YOUR HEAD OUTSIDE, which is what the dire official pronoucements were saying.

I can say that, after all the above foo, having to shovel 10" of snow off the driveway really sucked balls.
