Long-expected wet doom
Apr. 15th, 2007 10:56 pmI was pleasantly, if hesitantly, surprised at 3pm, after our twelve hours of heavy, heavy rain, to find that our basement had no water in it.
I was a little disappointed, but not horrified, to find a small amount of seepage at 6pm.
At 10pm, the furnace room and the laundry room are both flooded. The carpet in my work room has about a quarter-inch of standing water under the padding. It's starting to seep into the landing area, which had escaped the previous flood entirely.
This rain isn't supposed to let up 'til sometime tomorrow.
