Wait, only filleting one's finger ONCE? Only having a grinder accident ONCE? I haven't done stagecraft since 1984 and I've had more finger-damaging accidents than I have fingers (and I still have all ten, amazingly).

We had the luck of the young and stupid. Remarkably few injuries and no maimings; many, many close calls.
