Playing catch-up
Nov. 18th, 2002 03:44 pmThis weekend was too much of...something to come up with clever (or not so) entries.
Steve and Beth were both in their flaky place Friday night when attempting to pack, so it was pushing past one by the time everyone was in bed. And then we had to get up at 6. Yay. Went to the Pathmark up 208 to see if it sucks less (note to husband: that's _south_ on Maple Road, not north, you twit), which it does not--it just sucks differently. Better meat department but they don't carry my favored peanut butter, so feh. Then,
sweh and I got the sewing room ready for the imminent futon arrival, which also meant creating an office in the basement for me. It may be dark and occasionally damp, but it's MINE and I don't have to share. Also moved the cat box to the basement, which is a definite quality of life improvement. Naturally the delivery guys didn't arrive til 5, so that killed most of the afternoon; oh well. Dave came over in the evening and we rented "Windtalkers"--it was kinda poor, I must say; oh well--and I made a roast chicken dinner. We drank much wine and cider.
Sunday, got up, drove Dave to work, came home and started tormenting the beloved pet when I got paged because news-xfer crashed. :-P And then I found that my Kerberos client was definitely sad, so spent a lot longer on this problem than I should have needed. More feh. Rest of the day was mostly puttering: with E-Tools (what a steaming pile of crap _that_ is), with the sewing room, with my office area. Brian came over in the evening and I made macaroni and cheese for dinner. Lots. Way more than I thought. 3 casseroles' worth. We will be eating this unto eternity.
Today: tired (slept poorly; too cold), cramping, and generally a bit bleh. Tonight is slated to be a fortress-of-solitude evening, which is good; empty rooms can be snarled at with impunity. Hopefully I'll get some painting done. I think a long hot bath is in order, too.
