Last night, Steve being mostly out of it due to a rotten stomachache, I tucked him in the comfy chair with Call of Cthulhu sourcebooks and a pot of ginger tea, and attacked the list of things which had been bugging hell out of me with their continued un-done-ness; that latter being the result of a surfeit of social obligations. O NOES I AM TOO POPULAR. Um? Anyways, I had not been able to do more than fight a holding action against the forces of clutter and lameitude, so I went on the offensive last night.

Accomplished:
* two loads of clean laundry folded & put away
* smaller, in-the-way box farm harvested
* kitchen cleaned
* dinner made, at 9pm when I realized that I had in fact slipped over into monomania, which is another "hello, mister low blood sugar" sign
* kitchen cleaned again
* much progress made on getting my workroom in order
* vast piles of house-related and misc. other paperwork gone through, sorted, and appropriately disposed of
* addendum: the single piece of paper we needed to finish our taxes (HUD-1, for you fellow homeowners) finally found, stuffed inside the pest inspection report WTFAGKGKGKGKWTF.
* cleaned the main bathroom sink/countertop
* scanned some photos that'd been lying around
* watered the plants
* oppressed Steve by showing him the most recent Weekend Web, which really makes you wish that edison had The Button.

Not accomplished:
* vacuuming the horrible wads of cat fur off the dining room rug
* the rest of the job of getting my workroom in order
* harvesting remainder of box farm
* making ahead some food for the week
* finding where the hell all my Tupperware has gone
* a new & better system for managing all the spare bedding
* working on the 3,297 mixes I have in my head
* digging up all the X-Men related issues I have which show that Wolverine does not have housings for his claws built into his hands, so that I may seize Ultimate Geek status from [livejournal.com profile] dariodevil
* installing the little shelf above my vanity, so I can put away my friggin' makeup
* figuring out why, exactly, I have such wretched microphone looping with any headset I plug into gfefx
* nagging Steve into developing a plan for what to do with his massive amounts of crusty old Amiga stuff

In other news, the focus group is re-forming to start The Artist's Way, which the original group went through awhile back; this is for those of us who missed it the first time. (I don't feel a huge wall of block, unlike some, but I do tend to feel stymied when I think about writing, which is troubling considering that the whole time I was growing up I heard nothing but "Oh, you're SUCH a great writer!!". I'd like to come to some form of resolution about that.) So I've started reading the book, and I find myself nodding a lot, and I think this could be a useful exercise; though it's striking me that this is far more directly targeted at, and applicable for, and likely useful to, a certain other. But I'm not sure that I will be able to persuade the peanut butter to dip into the chocolate, as it were.

Yikes! monomania... I resemble that. Some days.

Meanwhile, I'm thinking fondly of your comfy chair. Where did it come from? I think I might need one. Of course, there would be danger that I'd never leave it.

The comfy chair came from Huffman-Koos, which was bought out by Levitz a year or so ago (and that location is now being shut down). If I can find the receipt for it, which we still ought to have filed away, I'll let you know who the manufacturer was.
