Verizon has been rejecting our payments (and nearly shut off the DSL) because when we moved, they changed the last three digits of the account number. Not most of it, which is OUR PHONE NUMBER THAT HASN'T CHANGED, just enough so I wouldn't notice.

My beloved sweet darling NVidia Ti4200 has snuffed it. Also, apparently, my computer in its extreme decrepitude (by which I mean it is two years old) has not the kind of graphics card port to permit it a "modern" type of card.

I am covered in dust and cannot find the bottle of orange flower water I've been tripping over for the past four years.

I have fixed, at great pains, a Ramos gin fizz for myself and am going to take a bath and wait for Mercury to stop this retrograde horsecrap.

You can still get a pretty good AGP card -- just not the absolute latest.

Pretty sure there are still AGP 6800GTs around. The AGP 6600GT in this thing does pretty well and those are dirt cheap now.

I assume “modern” means PCIe? It has to, because my P2/300 X terminal at work has AGP, for crying out loud. But then there's my games box, which is also AGP (though maybe a faster flavor of it), and from mid-2004, and whose graphics card was the top of the general-consumer line at the time.

But then I Am Not A Hardware Person.

Oh, and furthermore: Darn kids! Why, I remember when AGP was all exciting and new! (Well, for Mac users, anyway.)
