In the midst of a pookiful music-sharing evening, we find that Flogging Molly is playing the Starland Ballroom, their only metro-area show, on March 9th. WE MUST GO!.

ObCurrentSong: This band was apparently top of the charts both in the UK and the US, and I can see how that would be (except I'm surprised in the unusual show of taste from the masses). Why is it that I only heard them on Radio Paradise? Oh that's right, because NYC radio is UTTER AND COMPLETE GARBAGE.

I'm tending to agree, it's all crap. We have an actual independent, not-owned-by-some-media-mogul radio station in Woodstock, which is about as uncrappy as it gets. WDST 100.1 (you can listen on WDST.com too). It tends to be pretty good and very diverse. Only thing is, sometimes it's a little too diverse. They sometimes play those little-known, obscure performers...and the reason some of them are little-known and obscure is because they SUCK! There's a bit too much of that "if the masses eschew it, it must be great counter-culture marvelousness" mentality.

You'd think...but they have their pet performers, and they play them a lot. New suck can become old suck pretty damn fast when it sucks that badly!
